Tired of blowing out the end of your B-AWD outer case and destroying your expensive gear set?

The SpeedFactory Racing B-AWD Billet Case Lock is your solution! 

This is a well-known issue with high power street and strip cars, occurring with both helical and straight cut gearsets. After developing & testing several versions over the past few years, we are proud to finally release the SFR Billet Case.

With the extreme power levels of our 2000+whp OUTLAWD B-AWD drag car we had instances where even the super strong PPG 4-spd dog set would break the mainshaft and then subsequently blow the end off the case, ejecting the bearing and 5th gear handcuff spacer. The result was full shaft separation which blew the outer case completely apart and destroyed the entire transmission – gearset, shift forks, final drive, OEM and billet housings, and all.

After installation of the SFR Billet Case Lock, when we had the same mainshaft failure occur again the outer case stayed intact which allowed us to replace the single failed component as opposed to having a destroyed transmission. The first time the SFR Billet Case Lock was put to the test with a real-world dragstrip failure it saved us over $10k in damages!

  • Acts as an external outer case handcuff keeping shaft separation to a minimum in the event of an internal gear failure
  • Highly recommended for high performance turbocharged street or drag race applications

Installation Notes:

  • Thoroughly clean the outside of the OEM cast aluminum outer case by blasting or wire wheel and brake cleaner - it MUST be completely free of any contaminants, paint, or corrosion.
  • Clean the inside of the Case Lock thoroughly with brake cleaner.
  • We recommend using J-B Weld™ Professional Size 10 oz (SKU: 8281) to fill all voids and bond the Case Lock to the irregular surfaces of the OEM cast aluminum housing.
  • For a 100% permanent installation you can also tack weld the Case Lock to the housing after using J-B Weld™.
    • If you go this route, you must have the transmission mainshaft fully shimmed to spec and installed with both case halves bolted together before welding.
    • Welding WILL cause some distortion of the mainshaft bearing bore and you will be unable to remove the mainshaft shim and bearing from the outer case after welding. Be aware of this if you choose to weld it. We do not recommend fully welding, but rather a few perimeter tack welds in order to minimize any warping that may occur.
