JFK's 1993 Honda Civic HB

This car is the ultimate budget build. We believe that it is not possible to build a consistent mid 10 second honda for less money than was put into this car. D series is all about budget performance, and we believe that this car is the perfect example of what can be accomplished with a budget build done right. It has been 100% reliable for ~2 years now. It has seen over 90 track passes, ~40 dyno pulls, and 1000's of miles on the street in that time. It has been a source of hope, motivation, and encouragement to hundreds of D16 fans across the internet. Any D16 with this level of performance is amazing, but this car is unique in that it uses stock sleeves, stock port head, and cast pistons from a Suzuki Vitara, which are extremely cheap in keeping with the D16 budget theme, and holds all the world records for power/speed/etc with these pistons. These pistons are now being used worldwide by Turbo D16 enthusiasts seeking maximum bang for the buck.

We threw this car together just in time to make a few shakedown runs at BOTI Woodburn this year, and had quite a few bugs to work out. Joel and Jacob Sipes' 1993 Honda Civic HB

This hatchback started out as a daily driven street car and after years of track time has transformed into one of the northwest's fastest all motor street cars. Jake and Joel's car is a result of years and years of R&D, This chassis has seen well over 100 track passes and 100 plus dyno pulls. This is the fourth motor setup in the car and they are very pleased with the power it is currently making. The car is going into its fifth year of racing and there are still some changes to be made, with a new ASP header, Kinsler 68mm top-feed ITBS, and a new gear set from Bullhead Gears next season should be very exciting. Alex Acosta’s 1992 Honda Civic HB

This car started out as a shell that Alex bought at the beginning of summer 08. He has since built it from the ground up to become the ultimate naturally aspirated street machine. The attention to detail under the hood is second to none, from the fender bolts to the fresh champ white paint that was sprayed before the motor was installed. He was just able to make the BOTI event in Oregon for some shakedown passes with his HB. Next year some Lenso Drag wheels and M&H slicks will be his choice for some added traction as he is determined to better his times. Stay tuned for updates and progress on this clean EG.
