We were fortunate enough to have the pleasure of working with Terrance on his 1995 Acura Integra. When he purchased the car the former owner had already installed the Acura RSX Type S engine and transmission. Just with that swap the car was extremely fun to drive and made good power. After some time of owning the car the K20A2 engine developed a rod knock and that gave us the opportunity to do some upgrades.
We removed the motor and tranny and decided to go with the K24A4 bottom end reusing the K20A2 cylinder head and 6 speed transmission. Before installing the block we removed the factory Accord rods and pistons and reinstalled the OEM TSX Pistons and Rods. At the same time when re-assembling the block we replaced the oil pump with the RSX Type-S unit. After the modifications to the bottom and were completed we installed the cylinder head, RBC intake manifold, and new Stainless Steel 4-2-1 Tubular header. Once the swap was reinstalled in the car it was time for tuning. We opted to us Hondata K-Pro for Terrance’s tuning needs as we are a huge fan of the Hondata Software.
The final numbers for Terrance’s car on pump gas were 250whp/202tq. This makes for an extremely fun daily driver with massive torque on tap at all times, and is one of the most enjoyable to drive street powerplants that we have driven in a long time!
