Tuning Guidelines and Pre-Tune Information
The following tuning policies should be read thoroughly. Please take your time when reading it and understand it completely before your appointment.
Shop Policies
- No smoking in the shop.
- There is absolutely nobody allowed in front of the vehicle or near the dyno while the dyno is being operated.
- Please do not help yourself to tools or shop supplies unless you are told otherwise.

If you are unsure of what engine management system to use please call or email sales@speedfactoryracing.net and someone will get back to you on what system will be best for you. We offer package deals on engine management, fuel systems, and other necessary tuning related components.
Tuning prices are based on the average amount of tuning time needed to complete a tune. This includes set-up/tear-down on dyno, dyno time and street tuning time if needed. If you want a pump and race gas tune on the same day, you MUST notify us at the time you schedule the appointment. You will not be able to add a race gas tune to your appointment at a later time.
Retunes
Retunes are only applicable to customers who have been tuned by SpeedFactory previously. The appointment is only considered a retune if using the same EMS/tuning system. Customers switching from one system to another will be charged the full tuning fee. Please call or email if you think you might qualify for a retune.
Race Gas
Tuning fees do not include race gas unless otherwise discussed with a SpeedFactory employee. SpeedFactory does stock VP Q16 race fuel if needed for a race gas tune. Please notify one of us at the time of making your appointment that you will be wanting to do a race gas tune.

Engine Damage Notice
If you are tuned on a particular type of race gas, you MUST run that same type of race gas when you run your race gas tune. The tune will be specific to the fuel that is being used. If you run a different fuel, engine damage can and will likely occur.
Spark Plugs
SpeedFactory stocks NGK series 6,7 ,8, and 9 spark plugs. Price is $20.00 for a set of 4 of any of those heat ranges. If you don’t want to pay for a set during your appointment, bring at least one extra set with you.
Engine Break-In
This consists of several miles of varied loading while under partial throttle and boost to seat the rings while keeping air/fuel ratios at a proper level.
Labor
Please be advised that the tuning fee does not include the cost of labor if something needs to be fixed on your car.
