SF NEWS 8-31-2010
The 2nd Annual Westcoast Outlaw Shootout held at Sacramento Raceway took place this past Sunday, August 29th, 2010.
We had our trailer and booth up as usual, and brought out 2 cars in the Turbo Outlaw class. It was a great day with a very nice turnout, and our our cars placed 1st and semi-finalist respectively.
OUR NEWS:
Kevin Kempf driving the SpeedFactory Outlaw Civic finally broke into the elite 8 second range with an 8.92 @ 179.2mph during qualifying, making him the #1 qualifier. This also marks a new personal best, and is the quickest & fastest Westcoast Outlaw car. We then backed it up with a winning 8.97 @ 179.7mph in the final round!
The Sipes brothers 325+whp N/A K24 Street Civic was not at this event either as it is still undergoing a major engine overhaul and upgrades – we are aiming for it to be back together in time for the upcoming East Coast Shootout.
We entered Zol Nor in his 850+whp 2600lb street driven EK hatch in the Outlaw class as well, even though it isn’t really setup to be an Outlaw class contender. We had some issues with the boost control during the day and the car wasn’t running up to par, but still managed to make it the semi-finals where he lost to our own Kevin Kempf.
Thanks to all of the people that helped us at the event and all of you who stopped by to check us out. We would also like to thank the guys at www.jsjbrothers.com for the awesome coverage at the event!
The next event for us is BOTI in Woodburn, OR. Don’t miss it!

SF NEWS 7-18-2010
The 1st Annual NOS Energy Forum Fest held at Pacific Raceways took place this past Sunday, July 18th.
The event included Drag Racing, Drifting, and Car Show along with a vendor alley. It was a great turnout with 6,000 in attendance!
We had our booth up as usual, and brought out several of our drag Hondas to participate in the drag racing. It was a fantastic day, with new personal bests from all our cars!
Kevin Kempf drove the 1000whp SpeedFactory Outlaw Civic to a 9.04 @ 167mph, which is a new best ET. We gained alot of good data on this initial outing with the 26 x 10 slicks, and expect to break into the elite 8 second range on our next outing with a few changes to the setup!
James Kempf piloted his 700whp SpeedFactory D16 SOHC SFWD Civic to a NEW WORLD RECORD for a D16 street car – an incredible 9.65 @ 153.82mph. This was all achieved on an overnight built backup cast Vitara piston’d engine! Look for even faster times from this car as we make further improvements to the setup.
The Sipes brothers 325+whp N/A K24 Street Civic was not at this event as it is undergoing a major engine overhaul and upgrades – keep an eye out for big things from them!
Zol Nor in his 850+whp 2600lb street driven EK hatch also ran a new personal best time of 9.68 @ 158MPH. Super impressive for a heavy, truly street driven Honda. This car even has a stock port GSR head and stock GSR cams!
The event was a massive success, with a great turnout of spectators and racers – this event is going to be even bigger and better in 2011. Thanks to all of the people that helped us at the event and all of you who stopped by to check us out.

SF NEWS:
Kevin Kempf pilots the SpeedFactory Outlaw Civic to 1st place in the FWD class at the 1st annual Import Face-Off held at Pacific Raceways this past Sunday June 27th! Lots of other great news from the SF camp as James Kempf piloted his SOHC Civic to its best ET and MPH run of 10.33 at 144MPH which is another World Record pass for a Vitara powered setup. The Sipes brothers in their naturally aspirated K24 powered Civic started out their day well with a personal best of 10.76 at 125+MPH but were not able to continue into the elimination rounds with engine trouble.
Zol Nor also finished up his NHRA Licensing passes at the event and ran his fastest time of 10.13 at 156.73MPH.
For the first event held in the NW by IFO we were happy with the turnout of spectators and racers and look forward to having them back in 2011. We would also like to thank all of the people that helped us at the event and all of you who stopped by to check us out.

SpoCom Mission
During the days when the Import Automotive Culture was in its infancy, words can not describe the emotions everyone felt rolling into a parking lot and seeing a huge line of fellow enthusiasts anxious to get into the car show. The prospect of seeing the dopest cars, top name manufacturers, and of course, the girls, was overwhelming.
Since then the car show circuit has evolved and is quite different from the days of the past. HIN and other shows like it have done a great job at evolving the original concept and offering great entertainment and sex appeal for all import enthusiasts. However, as avid enthusiast, SpoCom saw a huge void in the marketplace. We did not see a car show that is open to the public that currently focuses solely on vehicles and the manufacturers that makeup what the industry is today. There was no place that we could go that gave us access to the manufacturers that could answer our questions.
SpoCom has constructed a show that combines all the great elements from the past along with some new ones into something spectacular.
As a car show competitor you will want to come out to this show for several reasons. First of all your car will be judged by an all Import Industry Panel. These are guys who know about cars, work in the industry or attend all the major car shows all over the world. These guys know what it takes to win on the showcar circuit. Second, is the prize money and SpoCom Trophy. WE DO NOT HAVE 300 CATEGORIES! We only have a limited amount so the best cars rise to the top. A win at SpoCom actually means something. Your car will be judged against the best of the best. The great prize money is only secondary, you want the Spocom Trophy designed by Troy Sumitomo at 5-Axis Designs! Third, is Media. No other show puts together the type of media exposure we have for our competitors. JTuned, Honda Tuning, Modified Magazine, Import Tuner, Euro Tuner, Performance Auto and Sound, Super Street, Urban Racer and more will be present to cover this event.
The show will also feature over 75 of the industry’s top manufacturers. This will give you a great opportunity to get first hand information on all the latest and greatest products in our industry.
We are also going to keep you entertained with a lots of stage action. An Urban Dance Competition, Bikini Contest, and Lingerie Show.
